The Joiners Arms is a pub on Denmark Hill in South London – famous for its links to Florence and the Machine, it retains its links to music with a small stage at the rear. A historic pub with a front and back bar, it has a few secrets with a courtyard style garden, and an unexpected but delightful sun-trap roof terrace (one of the rare positive outcomes of the various covid rules which forced pubs to improvise and innovate).
There’s a pub quiz on Wednesdays – a favourite of ours and highly recommended. There’s a broad range of drinks available and they’re always served in the correct glassware so no complaints there. The combination of history, friendly staff, good drinks and the hidden roof terrace form a really lovely pub, scoring highly across all categories – particularly in ‘nice to have’.
